8/10/25 Through 8/16/25
Sunday
Our eyes must be focused beyond of this Earth
For death is but passing from here to new birth.
We have all the stories that show us the way
It's up to us now to hear and obey.
The servant in charge of the Master's concern
A fitting reward for persistence will earn.
But if he should falter and lazy around
A punishment justly and quickly is found.
We know not the day or the hour He comes
Or how it can be that the servant becomes
A one resurrected with glory obtained
Or one in the depths forever enflamed.
All judgment belongs to the Maker of all
He knows who are prudent and answer His call
He knows who are wicked and turning away
And they are the ones who should fear of that day.
Monday
So many things I hear and know
But cannot demonstration show
How suffering can be for good
And Jesus, that I've understood.
Self-sacrifice, the bane of me
I see not how it sets me free
It takes much time, and looking back
I hope to see what now I lack.
Tuesday
As leadership is handed down
A younger one assumes the crown
The crown of servanthood to all
To seek the lost when e'er they fall
For fall, does every man alive
As well, they clamour to survive
Amid the darkness of their sin
And speak anew of life within.
Like little children, we must be
Who place our every trust in Thee
Who rise again each time we fall
And always on His graces call.
Wedesday
Hope remains, when even we die
Judgment of man, man should not try
Heart of another, none can confirm
Trusting in God, all must now learn
Seen from afar, enough would be
To prove His love enough for me
The heart of a man, no man can know
But man to God can always go.
Thursday
A good and faithful servant be
A man of all humility
Not one of malice, greed, and lust
But one forgiving man can trust
For either party, debt can be
A means of moving far from Thee.
But when we freely share our wealth
Then both are found restored to health.
Friday
Mary, Mary, Oh great Mary
Come thou now and do not tarry
Intercede for men so lowly
Make us humble, meek, and holy.
His grace bestow for every need
A docile heart in all we plead
That we may someday be like you
A faithful servant, kind and true.
A one to act on every word
A one in whom the Spirit's stirred
A one with trust unfailing here
A one without a trace of fear.
Saturday
Oh, let me cry as done before
His will is my delight!
May I be clean down to the core
And shine a holy light.
As said at Shechem on that day,
"My house will serve the Lord"
Far be it now to turn away
And forfeit our reward.
May all who travel down this line
Be firm in faith and true.
And so, this progeny of mine
Be ones who trust in you.
