6/10/18 Through 6/16/18

6/10/18 Through 6/16/18

Sunday
Deep within we long for that
Which time will never change
We want far more than idle chat
Or something to exchange

We look for lasting peace and joy
No transitory bliss
A peace no power can destroy
Or happening dismiss

A glory in eternity
Where we are called His kin
No better place that one could be
Than Father's house within.

Monday
How truly bless-ed are the meek
Un-faded by the storm
For what the world may say is weak
Will simply not conform

The truth they know and hold it fast
In spite of storms that come
They know what will forever last
And who will bring them home.

Tuesday
May I forget my own desires
And quickly do what love requires
For love abandons selfishness
To aid the one who's in distress.

True love will love the greater thing
And not the pleasures lust can bring.
A heart with such a love so rare
Will bring our Savior everywhere.

Wednesday
How have we drifted so far away
To follow what so many people say,
Abandoning One who is faithful and true
To follow the crowd, and do what they do?

Why would a nation, blest as they are
Depart from the way that has blest them so far?
Sin is the answer that causes the drift,
Sin has created a tectonic shift.

No longer we see with the clearest of eyes
Fooled by the mask of sinful disguise
Truth becomes blurred by logic of fools
Then pride makes the lot as stubborn as mules

We need an Elijah to come in our day
To speak with all boldness and show us the way
To slay the false prophets with words from above
And lead us again in the way of His love.

Thursday
Help me to be a man of prayer
And show your love no matter where
Help me to listen when You speak
And show the way to those who seek.

Friday
In humble faith, Elijah's prayer
It seems was answered without care
For all his worry clear expressed
And offered not, him any rest

But called him yet to still obey
And in the silence there to pray
Then bid him, go, and then anoint
Successors whom I now appoint

Saturday
To do Your will is my delight
For in Your will is joy and light
And following that simple way
Will lead me to a brighter day

So cast Your cloak of love on me
That now at last, I clearly see.
How only when I do Your will
Does happiness in me instill.

Fr. Jacob Willig

Father Jacob Willig
May 19, 2018

On you, this day, is placed the stole
Forever marked, as priest, your soul.
No more an ordinary man
But one anointed for His plan.

Be brave and follow His commands,
No matter what a “yes” demands.
For all belongs to Him who made
The earth and all the stars arrayed

No cost too great for Him who gave
His only Son, for man to save.
To Him a “yes” is always best.
He’ll grant the grace for every test.

A shepherd you are called to be
To face the wolf, and never flee,
To lead the flock to sweet repose
Wherein the living water flows.

We’ll offer prayer for you each day
That God, through you, would light the way.
And bring to Him a faithful throng
To heaven’s gate where they belong.

6/3/18 Through 6/9/18

6/3/18 Through 6/9/18

                                       Sunday  (sing to Stabat Mater)
In the bread and in the wine
Blood and body of divine
Christ our Savior we behold

Falling manna, precious tide
Blood and water from His side
Ancient story now retold

Only those that thus believe
Can become what they receive
Earthen vessels filled with gold

Living tabernacles make us
Unto new dimensions take us
Nothing does our God withhold

Fully fed and satisfied
By our Christ they crucified
Every captive now set free

Risen now and glorified
Seated at the Father's side
Spirit opens eyes to see

Monday
I thank You Lord for every grace
For each abandoned sin
You lead me to a better place
Where I, salvation win.

So many sins I did not know
Were leading me astray
For pleasure, and for pride although
They kept me far away

One by one You showed me why
My actions needed change
Why love for You could not deny
The need to rearrange

So many still, are found in me
That make the progress slow
I still have need to be set free,
That I may further grow.

Attachments long ingrained within
A harmful choice can be
For every seeming "little" sin
Keeps me away from Thee.

Teach me in Your school of love
Progressing every day
To daily grow in knowledge of
Just how I turn away.

To exercise some self-control
Enduring to the end
Devoted deep within my soul
To righteousness defend.

That swelling in affection for
My gracious Lord above,
I fill my life forevermore
With His enduring love.

Tuesday
Hasten the day of His coming
When fire consumes all that is
With faith every soul is becoming
Devoted, and totally His.

For wicked, a day of great terror
They thought that they never would see
For those that refuted their error
The time of the great victory.

Wednesday
Through ignorance we run astray
And work to make our separate way
Bemused we wander unaware
Upon the serpent's deadly lair.

We start believing stupid things
Self-centeredness and boasting brings
We see the narrow way for fools
And nothing more than silly rules

But we must see the writing clear
And learn at last, the God to fear
He gives to us the grace to know
If we, but to the scriptures go

We find in nearly every line
Refreshment from this holy vine
And if we act on what we read,
On milk and honey we shall feed.

Thursday
To teach, at first, we well must learn
How rightly to, His word, discern.
And take to heart what He's revealed
Illuminating that concealed

Remove the plank and then we see
How well the word was meant for me.
The Truth will never lead astray,
But guide us on the narrow way.

Friday
Great sign of love, the Sacred Heart
To man, abundant grace impart
Contained within this holy sign
The greatest depth of love sublime.

Saturday
As spring awakens plants and trees
The eye that's opened clearly sees
His justice and His praise abound
Wherever docile souls are found

A heart immaculate conceived
A heart inflamed by grace received
A heart to mother all mankind
A heart in which true peace we find

5/27/18 Through 6/2/18

5/27/18 Through 6/2/18

Sunday
The Trinity I can't explain
But this I see quite clear and plain
There's truth in what the Savior said
And I believe it, every shred

Though separate from each other, one
Are both the Father and the Son
The Spirit too, is one in three
And further yet, confuses me

Yet I have met each one of these
In bread and wine or gentle breeze
In fire of love or babble sound
In truth, the Trinity, I've found

My simple mind cannot explain
But this I know quite clear and plain
God's love for man does far transcend
The place where mortal sketches end.

Monday
Is that really who I am,
A weak and faithless kind of man?
Or would I answer ready then
If I but heard His call again?

A mind so occupied by gain
Is like a mind that's bound in chain
Unable to, in love, reply
When ere the Savior passes by.

Tuesday
I may be last, but let me in
My pride and all my selfish sin
Have placed me at the back of line
But let forgiveness still be mine.

Wednesday
To drink of the cup that He drinks
Is easy, the foolish one thinks
In time he will try, and in danger, he'll fly
And see how his love really stinks

To drink of the cup that He drinks
I can do, he says as he winks
But faced with the pain, he abandons the gain
And quietly off, then he slinks.

Thursday
In His presence dance for joy
All your talents then employ
Proclaim His greatness to the sky
No more need for poor to cry

He clearly shows it's not the end
If we, on earth, on Him, depend
For love outlives the earth and sky
And He was love, they can't deny

Friday
No concept of the power He gave
This One who came to sinner save
No concept of the glory due
When in His house, just passing through

Pray with faith and find it yours
Have no doubt that love endures
Drive away the base desire
Fill your heart with zealous fire

Saturday
A parched and barren land that thirsts
A sacred heart, with lance, that bursts
The blood and water flowing tide
A cleansing love, to man provide

Thirst of man in love assuaged
Evil now, much more enraged
Their every scheme to quell the word
Results that far more souls have heard.

5/20/18 Through 5/26/18

5/20/18 Through 5/26/18

Sunday
Great wind of love blow through our home
Our twisted selfishness please comb
Let love drive out all base desire
And fill us with Your holy fire

For love can cure our every ill
By following the Father's will
So cure the sick and save the lost
By filling us this Pentecost

Monday
Lord, of these demons, free our land
Teach us to love as You had planned
May faithful Christians fast and pray
To drive this evil far away

Each little vice we welcome in
Will pave the way for greater sin
Till then one day we look around
And wickedness is all that's found

But wisdom and humility
Bring forth abundant fruit for Thee
In peaceful self-control we find
The fruits of righteousness are mined

Tuesday
Humbly trust in providence
Let love become your recompense
Seek not the prize of worldly gain
But break the links of selfish chain

Become a servant for them all
And answer well the greatness call
Be childlike and trust His care
Than find He answers every prayer

Wednesday
My daily bread is all I ask
To strip away this phony mask
That vainly says I'm in comand
Yet knowing not what You have planned

From my earliest days of youth
I've tried to make my plans and truth
Now looking back I clearly see
Futility in trusting me

Thursday
We drag around our useless fat
Corroded gold and silver that
We've spent our days amassing so
Prosperity and ease we'd know

But oh, how useless all of this
These monuments to our remiss
In our defense they hold no sway
Upon the fateful judgement day

Friday
Persevere in loving one
You chose so long ago
What benefit in having fun
With one you do not know?

For history well has honored those
Who persevere in strife
And Jesus in His teaching shows
Commitments are for life

The joy you found in years gone by
Will prove as just the start
When two, in love, both laugh and cry
And never grow apart

The key is never saying no
To love's increased demand
But learning how to give and grow
As our Creator planned

Saturday
Let the children come to me
Those innocent and pure
What joy if all would come to be
So confident and sure

Without the shades of doubt they learn
From years of sinful ways
And knowing they could never earn
A life of endless days
