6/8/25 Through 6/14/25
Sunday
Your Spirit Lord, I need to know
To light the way, I need to go.
His many gifts, my food each day,
My sustenance along the way.
Remind me Lord of all I've learned
My face, to You, keep always turned.
Shine Your light of Love within,
Keep me always far from sin.
Spirit, whisper in my ear
Draw me ever to Thee near.
Bend my will to love Thee more
Shower gifts from in Your store.
Use me as a tool for You
Make me fresh as morning dew.
Drive the demons far away
Be near to me and always stay.
Monday
There's one who said, yes, and says yes every time
The Mother of God and my subject of rhyme.
She reigns as the Queen and I beg of her now
That I always say yes, as she did somehow.
Too often I fail in the smallest of ways
Not fasting, but choosing instead just to graze.
How can one so weak ever last in a storm,
When spit from the mouth as one just that's lukewarm?
I need her resolve and the grace from her Son
To shine in the dark with the victory won.
Forgiveness and mercy to draw from despair
Her weak little child who's caught in a snare.
The flesh must be trained to obey that above
Forsaking the selfish in favor of love,
To crucify daily the temporal desire
And choose with the will for the cleansing of fire.
So, show me the chances I have through the day
To choose to be strong and to follow His way.
Then bring about vict'ry by changing my heart
This day with your graces, anew I will start.
Tuesday
His flavor enlivens the bland,
He does what the Father has planned.
But what good are they who refuse to obey?
They're worth but a bucket of sand.
Wednesday
A man they said was good and true
Went searching for the ones like you
Who saw the world as fleeting now
And looked for lasting truth somehow.
He preached the Gospel plain and clear.
He knew the cost, but laughed at fear.
His joy was sacrificial love
To spread the word of God above.
Encouragement, his greatest gift
To all their downcast spirits lift.
He joined with Paul to tell the Earth
Of Jesus Christ and second birth.
Thursday
Too often, Lord, Your word is veiled
And every try to teach has failed.
The life of love too few have seen,
From self-indulgence, all must wean.
The Pagans long ago declared
How odd the depth of love they shared.
But now such words not often heard,
True love, by many, deemed absurd.
Forgive and help us Lord to turn
And act to all with true concern.
Let we, in one another see
The light of love which comes from Thee.
Friday
Oh, shine Your light within my soul
Expose the dark and make me whole
It's only when I die to sin
That life can truly dwell within.
The hardships of the present day
Are not a hindrance as we pray.
We know, like Christ, we too shall rise
And overcome all evil plies.
A sacrifice of praise He claims
And selfishness within He tames.
In thankfulness, I call on One
Who sacrificed His only Son.
Those simple sins I keep around
Are far more dangerously found
When seen from eyes of Perfect Love
And still may keep one from above.
I need Your ray of light to see
The dust that flies around in me
Then let You clear away the sin
And make the room for love within.
Saturday
Yes is yes, and no is no.
That's the way that man should go.
No more need, no more want
Just the truth to evil haunt.
Mary, bearer of the Child
Mary, pure and undefiled
Yes, you answered every day
Gain that grace for me today.
Let me see beyond the veil,
Let me see from where you hail.
Understanding love so fine
Let that choice be always mine.
Ne'er a selfish mind to sway
Only yes, along the way.
Yes, in trial, yes in dread
Yes, receiving daily bread.
Full of Grace, my model be
Make me docile, just like thee.
Always yes, and never no,
Lead me on the way to go.
