5/25/25 Through 05/31/25
Sunday
Teach me, Holy Spirit, well
Your glories, may I clearly tell.
Come be the guide in all I do,
Attune my ears to only You.
Give the ways of flesh no hold
Help me be one true and bold
Make me salt and light below
Help my faith to bloom and grow.
Monday
Lord, open my heart to hear what You say
And give me the grace to follow Your way.
The media many, You use to explain
Sometimes it's in joy, but often in pain.
The will of the Father, You showed on the Cross
Resurrection we gain by going through loss.
The loss of the things that are passing away
For life in the land where none will decay.
But first we must see, recognizing what's true
The all that there is has all come from You.
Seeking no longer the created things,
But seeking now only the King of all kings.
Tuesday
Your prayers can also shake the Earth
Through you can come a second birth
The Spirit's pow'r will come to those
Who trust that from the grave He rose.
In suffering, still joy remains
A song of praise amid the pains
More shaken than the walls of stone
The guard who thought himself alone.
Conversion came that special night
In deepest darkness, shone a light.
A light of love to change a mind
So one who's lost, his way could find.
No more in flesh, He travels here
But in the Bread is always near.
His Spirit He has sent to man
To carry out the Father's plan.
His plan is that all men be saved,
Those even wicked and depraved.
His mercy waits for man to change,
Priorities to rearrange.
We must believe and so proclaim
The glories of His Holy Name.
The Advocate in action then
Will change the hearts of sinful men.
Wednesday
Unknown to so many, but yet He's in charge
His presence in cloudiness still looming large.
So many confused by the whims of the day
They wander around and forget how to pray.
So much He could tell us if ready our minds
The words of our Savior, to us He reminds.
The clarity comes when we ponder that word,
Repent of our sins, and obey what we've heard.
The things that are coming He shows to us all
Declaring what's true, and that evil will fall.
The Father's possession our food for the soul,
He gives to the docile and humble, makes whole.
Thursday
Every Sabbath, preaching there
But few it seemed, would even care.
Their minds were fixed in comfort zones,
A valley filled with dried-up bones.
We must be open every day
To hear whatever God will say.
Too easily we drift apart,
For, proud we are, but not too smart.
In silence, we must listen well
And let His word within us dwell,
Rejecting all the empty show
And coming Truth alone to know.
Obey His voice and find you're free,
No longer sin will hinder thee.
His will is best for you and me,
If you but try, someday you'll see.
Friday
No word without a point for me
Each one a lamp for me to see.
To give me courage in the fight,
And lead me through the darkest night.
He says to ask for what I need
And so today, this word I heed.
I ask for joy amid the pain,
I ask to someday Heaven gain.
I ask for tears to cleanse my sin
I ask to welcome Jesus in
To every moment of my day
And let Him teach me how to pray.
I ask that I might do His will
And so, my task in life fulfill.
That many souls would come to know
The way that they should also go.
Saturday
Oh, Mother Mary, straight and true
The words most holy said by you
Will last forever showing man
The One and only Great I AM.
How great to answer, "Let it be."
How great to be one fully free.
So docile, faithful, good, and pure
A loving one to long endure.
So giving of yourself to God
While all around are men so flawed.
Your yes has echoed through the years
And brings the prideful one to tears.
Oh, how I wish your way was mine
And I, with Him, would too align
My soul would then proclaim as well
Within me, too, the Son would dwell.
I know He's there and waiting still
For me to just accept His will.
I try, but often sin takes hold
Flesh again left uncontrolled.
Concupisence, my bane on Earth
But you, our Savior brought to birth.
I cling to Him as one in need
His Cross the saving act indeed.
