3/13/16 Through 3/19/16

3/13/16 through 3/19/16

Sunday
Cast at His feet with accusing tone
The crowd and the elders make ready to stone.
With finger in dirt, their sins all made known
At last the woman and Jesus alone.

Monday
Unwilling to the truth discern
We go unchecked while passions burn
But humble claim the guilt within
To start the cleansing of the sin.

Tuesday
When bitten by the lust for sin
Decay will then abound within
But gazing on the crucified
The heart can then be purified.

Wednesday
No other god can satisfy
But yet, I find, that I still try
And when I do the shame sets in
No god has died that I might win.

Is there a way to understand
The depth of love, of God, for man,
That he would save unworthy swill
And offer them His son to kill?

Thursday
The light of day without an end
Is more than mind can comprehend
To find amid the everyday
The grace to live this special way.

If we but take the time to kneel
And ask Him to, His plan reveal,
He grants the grace to find the way
From darkness to the light of day.

Friday
Familiar with the stories told
Somehow the death of Christ gets old.
We say He suffered, and He died,
In fact our God was crucified.

But do we ever stop to think
What bitter cup the Lord did drink?
Would we, for love, endure one blow
Or dare His suffering to know?

A single thorn can make us cry
Or have us asking, "Tell me why?"
My suffering should be so great.
Do Thou, oh Lord, your servant hate?

But patiently He bore the pain
That we should have eternal gain
And waits for us to realize
What we should see with open eyes.

Friday PM
I look around and plainly see
A lack of constancy in me
Hard working yes, but not controlled
The appetite a beast consoled.

Will there ever come a day
When just by will, I hold at bay
The hunger pangs that scream aloud
And carry through what I have vowed?

Saturday
Joseph, defender, protector, and guide
The spirit gave knowledge for you to decide
To give of yourself to father the Son
As spouse to the pure, and virginal one.
